I haven't read the entire thread so don't know if it was mentioned, but in
San Diego they are equipping all K-9 units with an automatic system based on
inside temperature. At the first level it will automatically roll down
windows and if the temp goes up it will close windows and start the vehicle and
the air. It will also start a warning alarm. This is in response to a San
Diego officer doing the same thing to his dog.
