Hi Everyone,
First A BIG CONGRATS to everyone involved with the wonderful New BEST IN
SHOW AMERICAN AND CANADIAN SELECT OSCAR!!!! Also my WINNERS' DOG at the
CANADIAN NATIONAL and Can Select and then Jamie Walker's WINNER'S DOG at
the US NATIONAL Isn't it just great that so many of our top Specialty Dog
are going Best at the All breed Shows. A GS is currently #2 Herding and #15
all breeds and she too is a Select from the 09 National.

Obvioulsy, everyone will not want or cannot plan on being in Lexington for
10 to 11 days.
Therefore our goal is to schedule in such a way that many will be able to
EXHIBIT and then participate and some willo at least observe the world teams
praticing on the fields if they cannot stay for the trials. . Hopefully,
those members or exhibitors participating in working venues and herding will
arrive on Sat to also see selects, gv, gvx and be there for the Centennial
on Sunday and perhaps stay until Monday to see some of the teams in action.
This is all subject to change as plans materialize. The National Specialty
is NOT and WILL NOT be taking a back seat to the World Trials
time, and we have to elect what to attend? Who pays for it, and who gets
the income?
THE GSDCA HAS ALWAYS PAID FOR IT'S NATIONAL SPECIALTY AND ALWAYS RECEIVES
THE INCOME. WE NORMALLY MAKE A NICE PROFIT ON THE NATIONAL. THERE IS NO
REASON TO THINK THIS VERY SPECIAL NATIONAL WILL NOT ALSO PRODUCE INCOME. I
AM NOT WELL VERSED ON WORLD TRIALS. IT HAS BEEN IN THE MINUTES FOR A LONG
TIME THAT THE GSDCA WOULD START SETTING MONEY ASIDE EACH YEAR TO HELP
SUPPORT INITIAL MONIES FOR THE WORLD TRIALS. I DO NOT KNOW THE INCOME
NORMALLY PRODUCED BY THE WORLD TRIALS.
I know the GSDCA puts on a National, and we try like crazy to make a
profit as well. DON'T FORGET WE ALSO HAVE A FUND RAISING CHAIR WHO IS VERY
GOOD AT BRINGING IN THE DONATIONS. What is the duty of the GSDCA to the
World Trials,and who will
be in charge? DAVID LANDAU, TISH WALKER AND THE WDA COMMITTEE. I love what
our new national chairman is doing with our
National, will he be involved in 2013? ABSOLUTELY, Bill needs to be part of
it, and is he
able to dedicate that much time? BILL IS AN INTRICATE PART OF THE PLANNING
AND IS ON THE CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE. FORTUNATELY BILL IS RETIRED, IS VERY
EXPERIENCED AS A FORMER AKC REP AND A FORMER BREED CLUB SHOW CHAIR, PLUS
BILL IS A GENTLEMAN, A REAL PROFESSIONAL AND PLEASURE TO WORK WITH.
While I appreciate the enthusiasm, I am also cautious of the liability. WE
HAVE LIABILITY COVERAGE EACH YEAR AND THIS WILL NOT BE AN EXCEPTION.
There are times when being an attorney makes life harder. I don't have the
answers, just questions to invite answers. We have four years to figure it
out.
I AM ABSOLUTELY THRILLED BY THE RESPONSES I HAVE RECEIVED, WE HAVE A LIST OF
NAMES FOR THOSE EXCITED TO BECOME INVOLVED. WE HAVE OUR FIRST DONOR, THEY
WILL PAY FOR BRINGING IN A HANDLER WITH HIS DOG MILITARY DOG.
