Personally, I do not agree that an RN is a title to qualify for an AOE ...way
to easy in my opinion. I do not understand why Nose Work is not allowed. For a
NW 1 title the dog has to find and alert on the hidden scent on 1) a vehicle 2)
exterior search 3) interior search and 4) container search all with a certain
time limit. This is the same skill as police dogs, bomb detection dogs and
search and rescue dogs use.
To some degree this same "scenting" skill is used in Barn Hunt.
My option is based on training and attaining titles on my GSDs for CD CDX UD HT
PT NW1 & RATN RATO.

I have been against in the past, and am still against dock diving, lure
coursing, and barn hunt as titles for AOE. These titles do not reflect the
Standard and description of the purpose of the German Shepherd Dog, nor are
they of the "standards" of the AOE Title which require exceptional
accomplishments.
