Absolutely agree Ruth, when I was heavy into training Sch (IPO) dogs , tracking
was by far the hardest, biting was the easiest, but luckily you could start
very young! As young as 8 to 12 weeks, I spent more money on hot dogs in those
days! Miss those days, much easier than conformation! Less expensive too Ed

Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: Titles
I don't understand the nose work title ban. The requirements for a NW3 are hard
and perfect to highlight a GSDs capabilities. The BOD accepts an HT which is
just an instinct test (the minimum for herding should be a PT) but not an
activity that our dogs excel. I love herding but know that most people are not
close enough to a good herding facility and many people do not live near areas
suitable for tracking. But Nosework is available to anyone willing to do the
work. And past the basic classes it is hard work.

Barn Hunt does not qualify for AOE. Dock Diving, Lure Coursing, and Nose Work
also do not qualify. This was discussed and voted on last BOD.
Hope this helps!

I would like to know if anybody knows, but please… don’t use this as an

explain, that would be cool!!!

I noted previously that a Barn Hunt title is accepted as a legitimate
performance title for the AOE award. However, it can't be used for the PAM
award. This is inconsistent and contradictory when it's being used as a
supplement title to count towards one award but not another. Can someone who
knows about this, please explain the reasoning for this and if it will be
changed?
For those of us who work to achieve the breed club titles, this is frustrating.
