I must be behind on stuff. I haven't read the List for awhile and didn't
even know this was the time of year for bashing the board and griping about
the National. Guess I'll have to read it more often...or maybe not
I need to keep Tedi on schedule. It is indeed time, within a day or two,
to start to bash the current location, even if we have no idea where it is,
or what might be wrong. Tradition calls for that. We can work in some
complaints about the judges, but the majority of that is to be 14 days after
juding is completed.
I used to want an outdoor national. But, Tedi talked to me, (she does that
now and then) about the excitement of an indoor national. The echo of the
crowd, the lighting, the comfort of the weather, and mostly the fun of
getting together inside. I remember the mornings when I would enter the
building with few others there, and watched the green grass, and the clear
air,
with the expectation of the day ahead.
Then there is the evening before the Specials when all the champions with
the owners and handlers enter the building and work in the ring, with no
control and everyone with dogs not groomed, with handlers in jeans, with
owners laughing talking and watching the competition, with echos, tears, and
smiles.
That would not be the same outside, and as usual, I have to agree with
Tedi. Especially now that she is reading the List again.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
