I don't believe the GSDCA is trying to be like the SV. We have the
GSDCA-WDA which is like the SV for those who want to breed and show according
to
the German way of doing things. Somebody (maybe more than one) on the
board obviously came up with this idea on long coats and thought it was a good
one to promote. Hopefully they will change their minds.
