The Bureau of Land Management is just that LAND MANAGEMENT. They care NOTHING
about the animals that are impacted when they "reduced the herds"...I do NOT
believe that the size of the herds are growing dramatically. That is just
propaganda being bandied about by yet another government agency who is
uneducated in the field of ANIMAL management. Remember, the governement
agencies are responsible for some of the laws being implemented against US and
consider US no different than the puppymillers!
If there is anyone who is interested in finding out just what the BLM is doing
"for" the mustangs, please log onto The Fund for Animals which is the group
that encompasses The Black Beauty Ranch; Cleveland Amory's Ranch of Dreams
(also a book by that name) that is home to many of society's cast offs. The
BLM had a "problem" with the wild burros living in the grand
canyon..."overgrazing" they said. Their solution was to SHOOT THESE DOCILE
CREATURES from AIRPLANES! Cleveland Amory stepped in and with the help of
volunteers, airlifted EVERY BURRO to his ranch to live out its days. Their
methods are brutal, inhumane, and without any regard for the animals they are
slaughtering. If they were TRULY caring for the wild mustangs, they would
SELECTIVLEY cull the herds by roundups and removal of the diseased and feeble.
Something that if left alone, nature would take care of. The animals that are
less able to fend for themselves are what feed the wolf populations.
How does this affect all of us? Its another government agency, ( who hasnt a
clue), getting involved because of the lobbyists in Washington. The cattle
industry is one of the largest and most vocal lobbys. Its only a matter of time
before some of the more extreme animal rights groups gain the ear of a few
influential politicians and we will be a thing of the past. Yet ANOTHER reason
to band together, regroup, rethink and find a GOOD PUBLIC RELATIONS CAMPAIGN to
bring us out of cawl of the "puppymills" and shine a better light on ethical
breeding programs.
BTW...there are MANY Wild Horse sites on the net. These people are fighting
against horrendous odds to save as many as possible. They are in desperate need
of donations. The Premarin horses have flooded the market since Wyeth Ayerst
has downsized its barbaric pee barns...horses are not afforded even the most
basic of comforts and are treated even worse than the poor dogs in the hell
hole "shelters"... Very few people have the financial wherewithal to foster a
horse...40,000 are sent to slaughter at one of the three slaughterhouses in the
US that process horsemeat. Most of it ends up on the plates of the European
restaurants. These are horses who were beloved pets, retired racehorses,
retired ranch hands, many are innocent 3 month old foals, who are frightened
and torn from their mothers. The next time they see the sun is at a holding pen
in a slaughterhouse.
Do yourselves a favor and do NOT believe what the Government agencies are
telling you!!! Remember, they are NOT looking favorably on US either!
