The laughable thing about all of this is when these commercial puppy
mills/brokers get involved it effects supply and demand, so all of us breeders
that are doing the right thing get squeezed out of the market, creating a
snowball effect, less breeding of quality dogs, fewer dogs at home to show,
less entries for the clubs and so on.....

The shame here is to all who try to do the right thing by our dogs, who sign
our Breeder's Code of Ethics, who are the ultimate victims of dealers from
puppy mills. We sell all of our pet dogs with limited registrations and
strongly urge or require spay/neutering. All shelters that I am aware of
will not sell a dog that isn't spayed or neutered. So where are all the dogs
coming from that are causing municipality after municipality to enact
breeder restrictions and limitations? There are not enough of us small
breeders at 1 or 2 litters a year to cause 10's of thousands of unwanted
dogs. They are coming from the dogs purchased through supersized pet stores,
supplied by puppy mills, registered by the AKC. Generations of these dogs,
millions of these dogs. These draconian laws will not put an end to the
dealers in wholesale puppies but they will, by shear economic weight, put an
end to the small breeder who cares, who tries, who signs his or hers' breed
clubs equivalent of the "Breeders Code of Ethics".
It's not just AR groups, it's the very real problem of too many unwanted
pets, disposable lives. Dealers in wholesale puppies are as much a threat to
all caring breeders as is any AR group. Just as much of a threat.

To the eight who stood, thank you for trying. Please continue to stand, now
more than ever before.
What does the GSDCA stand for? What did it fall for?
