I had for years suggested no names be released before everyone was in the race.
I felt having those nominated had an advantage since their names got out there
first. But it was like getting congress to cut their salaries. The nominating
committee is selected by the board, and the board with the by-laws sets the
rules.
I think John Bemont got on by petition. I don't know who else might be in the
race. I did suggest that everyone go by petition. I was told by a man wiser
than me, (which is just about everyone), that if no one petitioned on, there
would be no one to vote for. He was right.
It used to be more than a dozen people would want to run. Now, not so much.

Perhaps because the July meeting happened after the July Review had been
mailed out? The Board-O-Gram will be sent out this evening via Constant
Contact and will be in the next Review.
It's a pretty simple process. Some
folks get nominated by a nominating
committee. Others are welcome to run if
they want to and are eligible.
There will be more information coming about
each candidate as each one
prepares a bio for distribution with the
ballot.
