I am glad to have Paul back. But, I don't think the AR people are winning. On
television, well over half the commercials have dogs or cats in them. That is
commercials not for animal products.
The AR make a lot of noise, but the pet population is more popular than ever,
and there is always a strong reaction to PETA, etc.
In the end, we are still strong, and we still enjoy our animals. No one seems
able to stop that, no matter how much money they have.
Hear us roar.

Hiya all...It’s been a while but here I am...back again...
I’ve kinda refrained from commenting on this because of the toll it’s taken on
me over the years...
The ARO’s have won...put a check mark in their win column. The attorney arguing
for his “clients” summed it up perfectly. He was standing on the steps of the
NY courthouse where this case is being argued talking to assembled media from
around the world. I paraphrase his exact comments but he said...”The mere fact
I’m standing here talking to you (the media) about this subject...is our
greatest victory yet!” Had you all heard about the Argentinian court that
granted apes the rights of personhood earlier this year? Possibly...probably
not but it happened.
ARO’s have been inundating States & Municipalities for years trying and
succeeding to instill their ideals within the populace. Meatless Mondays,
restructuring classroom agendas by the elimination of dissection in secondary
education, draconian anti breeder laws, and certainly creating the demise of
the American Circus. Barnum & Bailey was winning the majority of the lawsuits
brought by the ARO’s but the cost made them untenable re the bottom line. A
lawsuit in every town was affecting “The Greatest Show On Earth” and forced
them into capitulation.
The argument on “animal rights” is a canard. It boils down to a tiny % of the
worlds population trying to impose their will and ideals on the majority and
animals are their chosen vehicle. The USDA law that everyone has fought so
bravely to keep from passing comes from a former Obama government Czar by the
name of Cass Sunstein. Mr. Sunstein is an avowed Arista who has written 2
books on the ARA...but those same words were included in posts to showgsd-l
before I left.
That said...I’m back and it’s good...
