[ SHOWGSD-L ] The good things about the S/W Futurity

I just have to take this opportunity to thanks all my wonder club members
for all their hard work and effort they put on to make this futurity a
success.
It might not have had large numbers, but it did have good dogs and the
judging was tops. I think that
all
the exhibitors who came had a wonderful time. And is that not partially why
we do this, to have fun?? When we stop having fun, that is the time to stop
showing dogs.
Our club members had the opportunity to see some excellent young dogs from
across the country. Many told me how thrilled they were to watch so many
beautiful shepherds gaiting around in the sunshine.
Our exhibitors certainly seemed to enjoy their lunches. They had a little
time to relax, to visit and re-new old friendships. Some went down on the
river, some to El Mercado, lots of eating , lots of shopping, LOTS of TEQUILA
and
MARGARITAS.
I especially want to thank the club president, Louis Christina. He made
things happen.
He secured the fantastic room rate of $49.00 That is unbelievable in a
tourist town.
He secured sponsorships that ensure the financial success of the weekend.
His wonderful wife Rose, Whom this weekend we christened "Our Sweet San
Antonio Rose", really went over the top with the lunches she served this year.
I
wish you two could run away on a vacation for you must be exhausted.
So to those of you who entered and especially to those of your who came, I
save thank you.
And I hope you return next year.
