To many chiefs have been causing a great deal of tension in the kitchen, its
well beyond time for a reduction. Most fortune 50's have half this number of
board members, and they seem to muddle along find. If so many want to serve,
there is no end to the work necessary to put on the national Bill is always
looking for volunteers. And I would disagree about not having regional
problems, making a board member responsible for region would give a greater
voice to regional clubs, and parent club activities within those regions.

I am against this too. As a club one of the fun parts of serving on the
board is going to the meetings. We are not a business, and so far we are
surviving. If it isn't broken, why fix it?
Mike Responded:
We are a corporation, yes and a club. The lessons here, are those of economy
and technology which has been developed to eliminate the high costs of travel
expenditures. It's sounds like fiscal responsibility is not one of your
considerations when selecting board members - it should be. Now I'm not saying
we need an iron glove here, but certainly some reasonable consideration should
always be give when spending the clubs(our) monies.

3. Petition for the increase of meetings to monthly using the above
referenced video/teleconferencing
Evan replied:
No need for this. It is currently hard to justify the time spent in
meetings. If you look at what is done, you will realize had it never been
brought
up, it wouldn't have made a difference. So many of the committees are for
the fun of it, and not important.
Mike Responded:
I'm ok with the current 1/4ly meetings if all club business is getting
accomplished, at least the technology of the above would allow the club to have
other board meetings as necessary to get there work down, and perhaps the
meetings could be reduced in length from the the apparent current marathon
weekends we have now.
Mike Proposed:
4. Petition to publish financial statements for all the GSDCA accounts
behind the members firewall on the GSDCA website within thirty days of
receipt.
Evan replied:
This should be done without any petition. The city of Bell figured it
out, and now all Los Angeles salaries are on the web page. We should be doing
this with the finances for the club. However, it won't work if the
figures aren't accurate. When I served on the board, we never had a final
report.
The story was that more information was coming.

meeting when they are schedule to be voted upon behind the members firewall
on the GSDCA website

We should not have to publish them. But, they should be presented to any
board members in time for them to get an opinion from the members. If they
aren't presented on time, then they should not be considered.

I'm sure that is the current process Evan, unfortunately it appears to be
getting circumvented - but I agree this should not be neccessary

6. Petition to replace the active Lawsuit documents behind the members
firewall with a link to the publicly available documents
Evan replied:
This was suggested by a board member and a member of the audience
threatened to sue the club if they did this. That member should never have done
that. The lawsuit is public record and available to anyone. And, if anyone
wants a copy, just let me know and I will send it. By now, anyone who wants to
read it, should have it.
Mike Responded:
We accomplish the same thing by providing the link to the public doc.s without
actually publishing them on our own. Just seems prudent.
