Of course it is hard to go Select. That is the point. In the Specialty
ring, Select is the top award.
In the All-breed ring, Best In Show is the top award.
If you want to limit the AOE, with a new award without Select, you can do
it. But then you could do an AO for dogs with a championship but only good
hips, or how about an A award for dogs with a Championship and not good hips
or elbows, and lacking the Select award?
We can continue to do awards with less and less, but AOE is the big one.
I see two of those glass things sitting on my mantle today, and I am proud
of them.
If you want to find another higher award, I will support that. But, to
find to lower the prestige of the award but just a bit less, don't drop
Select. That is the top award in the Specialty ring.
It means a lot, and that is why I have strived to get it.
