Kay you are exactly right. Heart, Desire, "Work Ethic" ,Vigor, Charisma...
can take an average dog and turn him into a star. Without it a star turns
into
a slug. One of our biggest pet peeves is a slug with no "go" no desire.
I also heard someone say that there are actually people out there that think
a dog with good temperament will have no "go". WHAT?!!! ROTFLMAO.
We are blessed here with dogs of impeccable temperament, some , tough as
nails,
some sweet as karo syrup....the thing they all have in common is GO. It is
in the DNA.
It is a commonality in the American dogs and the German dogs that we have.
That desire to go, to work to PLEASE that fire, that vigor is as much a part
of a
truly great GSD , as it's desire to serve and protect. Spare me a slug.
