The story of Booker. Booker became a champion in spite of the fact he had a foxtail festering in his lung. The surgery was long and dangerous, and we thought we might lose him. However, he was a very strong dog, both physically and mentally, and he recovered quickly, surprising everyone, even the veterinarians. After this surgery, Booker just blossomed, and quickly became the dog of our dreams. Instead of coaxing him to eat, we now had trouble filling him up. Many people remarked on how beautiful he was looking. That explains how he changed for the better. He was not dyed, he just had grown his full, beautiful coat. I will always feel privileged to have been one of his people, and the one who took him herding.
