what I do not understand is why anyone would deliberately breed for faults in
any breed. If a breeder does that breeder is not doing the breed any favors.
The breed is what a standard says it is or it is not a breed. It may be a good
dog - but it is not a good example of a specific breed.

Terry, I don't have any whites but I have quite a few friends who do--some
VERY nice white German Shepherd Dogs. Number One--not everyone who has
whites OR blacks OR black and tans OR sables are interested in conformation.
Many excel in performance events or are just plain family pets. (I think
the conformation people are in the minority.) Therefore, they, the white
dogs, WOULDN'T be at the end of the line anyway. Number Two--the GSDCA
gives ME a sense of belonging. Who wouldn't want to belong to a club where
there are similar interests in a breed of dog, no matter what the color?
And Number Three--The people who want to belong and have white and colored
shepherds must be one tough type--their mere existence is bringing out the
worst in some people. Not me. Let anyone join the club who is interested.
I am not so paranoid to believe that ANY color has a diabolical plan to take
over the shepherd world--although the black & tans have done it for years.

What's in it for the white shepherd, you ask? White shepherds are German
Shepherds--it's in the DNA, folks. That's enough for me.

The Farm Dog Forever
I wish someone would explain to me why any one would want to stay where they
are considered a disqualifying fault or at best a serious fault. Do they
really feel that being at the end of the line behind there colored
counterparts in a step up? I know what is in it for the GSDCA , more
revenue, but what is in it for the white shepherd? Is being at the end of
the line behind livers and blues that desirable? Am I missing something? I'm
sorry I just don't get it?
