[ SHOWGSD-L ] The STANDARD ...a moving target??

I'm curious as to how many requests came from the membership asking the
Board
to explore defining two types of coats and the DQ on whites...and if it was
from Breeders and exhibitors of our Standard colors?? It seems it would
need
to be a whole lot of requests for the Board to consider that there might be
a
"need" to address changes in our Standard??
Do you know Zoe??
It seems to me there are plenty of serious issues that the Board and Parent
Club NEEDS to be spending time on for the betterment of this Breed and it's
future rather than changing a Standard that has served us all so well!!

An ad hoc committee was formed to look into defining the two types of LONG
COATS, and because of all the letters, the DQ on WHites -
responding to membership requests
This does not mean that the Board is determined to change the standard, but
rather look into the possibility that some items need to be
addressed. THE BOARD DOES NOT MAKE DECISION TO CHANGE THE STANDARD - THE
MEMBERSHIP will make that decision should the
ad hoc committee report suggest we need to and the Board votes to send it to
the membership.
The AKC does not allow varieties any longer so we are not looking into
trying to set up new varieties.
Your Board is trying to be responsive to all of its members. Give them a
break.
