Not saying the magazine does not need improving. No I could not see the dogs or
print in the Nov-Dec issue
without a magnifying glass. However, does this printer not have a reputation to
uphold? Why would
they want to put out a magazine that has flaws? The printer can read and see
what is going to be
printed and should have the knowledge of what the finish product will be. The
March 2016 issue had flaws too
but still the printer sent it to press anyway. To me it still boils down to
the printer and what he allows to be printed
and sent out.
I like the old Reviews as they contained articles information on Health and
Temperament. Now a
Pedigree of GSDs and their History is very important so the photos and placings
is just part of a magazine.

RE: The REVIEW photos NOW
Glad have no problems with the photos and have the
answers Theresa. ( you must not have a
dog in this
Review! )
<G>
But
what
was in a March 2016 Review does not make me any
happier with this problem.......??
But If you REALLY LOOK at the Review
and the photos and the print I am talking about ...it is hard
to
believe you have no problem with
it. .AND if you can read the print on page 52 of the
Nov. Dec. Review
I am surely impressed.......
<G>
I think the real problem is the
DOGS. And to me....the Review is ABOUT THE
DOGS! They are small
shots of dogs in small
photos. The dogs appear so small it is hardly worth the effort to
have them printed.
Again...with enough white space on the pages
to either
enlarge the photos or crop them........or both
Before they were always cropped down
so that the dog was what you were looking at in these small
photos
instead of all the background that
takes up these photos that makes the DOGS so small they are
hardly
worth looking at. What really makes it sad is
that the dog photos are so small.....it is hard to even
get
motivated to look for a
magnifying glass to find out who they
are........................sigh..........

In all
fairness if you go back to the March 2016 issue just was
viewing it this morning you will see
the
format is the same. The photos are pretty much the same
size the print just slightly
smaller
but
notice the spacing is different which might be the printing.
Printers are suppose to align pages
when
it goes to the press machine. Did the GSDCA change printers?

The REVIEW
Got
our latest Review the other day.....on time......but I
am again
disappointed.
Since forever we have looked forward to
getting the Review
with
anticipation.
The
articles and information
are great.....but again, sadly,
the size of the
pictures is a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT for
me.
Over
the years we go over the Review and savor the photos...then we read the
articles and
the information
...but none of the words are
ever committed to memory like
the actual pictures of the dogs!! It is the pictures of these beautiful
dogs that bring us back to the Review
over
and over until the next one arrives, as we look
at winners, stud dogs, upcoming stars,
check
out Breed improvement,
bloodlines, etc.
I am
again disappointed about all the white
space...the large print in some
places, and the small....SMALL
photos!
There are a couple of pages in
the November/December
Review where you actually need
a
magnifying glass to read the print and see the dogs.....and much of the
pages are
white
space!
And THIS
latest Review now is our National Winners and photos in this one! The
most
important wins
of the year for many, and
for those of us not
there....photos we really look
forward to
seeing! Or used to anyway.......
Again...it is the actual
photos...the pictures...the
anatomy of the actual dogs that brings us
back
to the Review over and over
as we research breedings, bloodlines...breeders...the
dogs...the
dogs....dogs....it's about the
dogs!
I do
not have an Ad...I do not have a dog in this Review....but if I did....I
would be HUGELY
disappointed to find my dog on a page and see that the
"random" photos ( that are
also
cute
and fun ) to be much larger than my dog pictured with
his major win, or a Futurity win,
or
ANY win!! And yes.....I
will express this opinion to our Editor........
The
Review is great...on time,
plenty of articles, quality, etc.......but I see no passion for the actual
dogs!?
