The Reno club, like Golden State, is very small and struggling. We need to
support their show to help keep them going & let them know we appreciate
their efforts in continuing to exist to give us a great SPECIALTY weekend each
year.
Even if you are not showing, this is a show not to miss. They will have the
World's Rib Cook-off the weekend of the show. It is about three miles from the
show, and there will be about 50 of the past winners and 20 or so new people
cooking ribs and chicken to compete. They have rock bands playing all day,
and hundreds of people there to enjoy the food and sights. The weather is
always perfect, the park with a creek next to it, is a great location, and I
will
plan to go out after the show and buy four or five slabs of ribs for
everyone to enjoy. We did it a couple of years ago, and it make the show
great fun.
The show always has food, but after judging, there is nothing better than
the rib cook-off.
This is Jerry Graham's first show back after his personal absence from
judging, and he is always fun to watch. With Randy Chesnut there too, it should
be
lots of fun to show, even if you don't win.
So, if you have a dog, want to make a fun trip, or just have a great love of
great cooking, try to make this show a "must".
