Very sad indeed. More so as to how sudden it happened.
I wish I was closer. I know how much Janice loved her dogs, and I am sure
they will be lost without her.
My condolences to Ron and his family and to all of Janice's friends.....
they were many.

I did not post anything to the list until I met with Janice's husband
and son today and received their permission to do so. Janice Staley,
long time breeder/judge, passed away very unexpectedly early last
evening at the emergency hospital. At this time, the cause of death
is pending the coroner's report which is normal when someone passes
away unexpectedly. We are all very numb as this was such a total
shock. We had just all been together last Sunday at a puppy match and
potluck.
Services are pending and once I have been informed of the details from
her family, I will post to the list as I know she had many friends in
the breed. I will also be working on a memorial for the Review and
again will post that information once things are a bit more settled.
Right now, the main concern is to make sure that her beloved dogs are
taken care of. She had way too many but did love them very much and
they loved her. Tracy Radigan, Eric Norby, Ellen Borders, Debbie
Hopkins and myself were up to her kennel today to evaluate the dogs.
We took several dogs and they are being fostered by Tracy, Eric and
Debbie. Unfortunately, since I do not have kennels and have three
house dogs I can not take any, so grey dog Debbie is fostering some of
the Strider kids for me. There are also a few "seniors" in the kennel
that are in good health with good temperament that I would love to see
placed in a forever home.
If anyone is interested in helping place some dogs, please contact
Tracy Radigan at -- jezragsd@xxxxxxxxxxx regarding the majority of
the dogs or myself regarding the Strider kids that I co-own. Of
course, this is all a work in progress until her estate is settled.
