5 long years ago, GSDCA Board passed a motion to have a GSDCA Legislative
Committee Chair and Committee. I am now sincerely grateful to announce that
Jen Proud has volunteered to be the GSDCA Legislative Committee Chair.
Jen is asking all GSDCA members across the U.S. to join with her in forming a
cohesive and fully active GSDCA Legislative Committee. While I will continue
to work as the Legislation Liaison to AKC, I will also be helping Jen during
the formation of the Legislative Committee.
Jen is asking YOU to be part of that committee. YOU, as a dog owner, have
work to do to preserve our rights to animal welfare! For those who have
already committed, thank YOU!
You would one of nine regional directors, (there can be one OR MORE
representatives for each region.) The regional directors will be informing
and educating their region’s clubs and encouraging those clubs to reach out
into the community at large; so they may begin to educate the general public.
Legislation, public interactions, Club Challenge points for legislation
activity information, will all be part of this exciting adventure. There are
an infinite number of excellent ideas coming from so many creative GSDCA
members. These ideas should be utilized and widely employed to combat the
onslaught of onerous legislation with which we are faced.
Volunteers are needed from the Great Lakes and the NorthEast Regions. Please
let Jen know of those who may be interested from those areas.
This will be an exciting time for GSDCA. Please let Jen and me know you
will be part of it.
