[ SHOWGSD-L ] The Media

One necessary, almost the MOST necessary, part of getting our  
information to the public is getting to the media. Yesterday and  
today, I worked to find somebody to be interviewed in a Sacramento  
station regarding an animal bill that is on Gov. Brown's desk.  The  
producer of the segment was eager to have "our" side told, and he was  
thrilled when I sent him a page of the opposition talking points.


The problem was that out of hundreds of readers of all the "posts"  
that I sent out (and I know personally many on those lists), it was  
down to crunch time before we got replies that they were willing to be  
interviewed.  (I DID find somebody, thank goodness!)


SO!  If there are people ANYPLACE who are ready and willing to be  
interviewed on various subjects of their choosing, I would love to  
have that list.  For MY list, I would like those who are willing to  
educate themselves on bills, or at least get back to me so we can talk  
about the various bills in their state (that's a HEAVY load, by the  
way... more some other time).  ONce the interview gets going, it's  
simple to drop in other words on other subjects, carefully.  And it's  
kind of fun once you relax and just talk to the guy or gal.  So????   
I'll keep the list going and update.  Today was VERY frustrating, so I  
have a list started for California already.


The good part of spending my time on the phone and computer getting  
this started today, is that I have the segment producer thankful and  
ready to listen to another bill that I want out there and if I have  
to,  I'll fly up to Sacramento for THAT one.  It's coming out on  
Capwiz tomorrow morning, so you all will get a link to it.


We have to move AHEAD of these people and stop trailing behind them.
