For those who want to know------------- A two point major is required for a Canadian Championship. The 2 point major means the dog had to defeat at least two other dogs in breed competition. This is a national point system and applies all over the country and for all breeds. Some breeds never have any competition at all in breed so must get their points through group wins (all of which give points depending upon the number of breeds competing in group. If 3 to 5 breeds are competing, the dog must place first. The dog must place second if 6 to 9 breeds are competing, place third if 10 to 12 breeds are competing and finally place 4th if more than 13 breeds are competing in order to achieve two points. In addition the dog must have achieved its 10 points under at least three different judges meaning that a dog receiving 5 points each day could not finish in two days under two judges. We may be large geographically but our total population is still somewhat less than that of Southern California.
