Thank you very much for taking the time to
write regarding the incidents at Fitchburg.
?
This office has had a number of credible
reports regarding what went on at the German Shepherd Specialties, including
statements from the show chair and exhibitors in other rings.? The
Executive Field Representative, accompanied by the show chair attempted to
address the excessive double handling that was going on and which resulted in a
disruption to what was going on in the rings around the German Shepherd
ring.? They, along with exhibitors from nearby rings, report quite a
different story.
?
Ms. Jenner was well within her authority
addressing the double handling that was going on.? That the incidents
resulted in an exhibitor being dismissed from the show grounds and not allowed
to come back the following days suggests that her reaction was appropriate.
?
Considering the disregard of AKC and the
other specialties held on the same sight, this office is considering a
recommendation to Event Plans to not approve future German Shepherd specialties
on the same site as the other specialties.
?
AKC is proud of its staff and the way the Fitchburg committee
addressed this situation.?
