Today, Veterans' Day, to all who have served our country in the past and to
those in uniform this very moment a profound thank you for what you have given
to your country and your countrymen. Every flag that flies today is in your
honor. You have blessed us with your service.
A special thank you to two men in my life, my dad, John J. Conti, who at 16
altered his birth certificate and joined the US Navy. He served in WW II with
the Amphibious Fleet in the Pacific. I am very proud to be his daughter. And
to my husband Thomas J. Turley, who served in Viet Nam. Although he suffers
daily the aftermath of Agent Orange, he is proud of his service to his country
and I am proud to be his wife.
