Oh Dear Penny,
We went through having 2 Mothers in nursing homes and the bills can be
astronomical!!! If the patient is on Medicare and no other insurance - WATCH
OUT! We were able to get my Mother-In-Law on Medicaid and all the bills were
paid, but my Mom used every last dime in her estate in just a 3 month stay and
she died on the last day when her money ran out. What a blessing! Only
suggestion - work with the home - there usually is someone there who can push
buttons and flip levers to help you with the money thing. After you are home
from a long "Red Tape Day" just snuggle down with your dogs and let them love
you. They can ease the pain better than anything I know.
