There was many good points both for and against having the test. One of the biggest problems is an incorrectly administered test, more amongst our all breed judges, but still includes some of the specialty judges. It appears to be a matter of interpretation by some, we all do not see things the same. Perhaps more judges seminars might help to better educate the less informed if the test as we now know it is to continue. Another problem I've seen is handlers not knowing what to do, or refusing to follow instructions at the time of Temperament Testing. Now, from outside the ring everyone is going "that dog must have bad temperament" when the reality could be that the judge didn't get a real opportunity to test the dog due to "handler error". I've seen the handlers twirling around with the dogs and the judges just saying: "forget it". If the judge is pressed for time, or has an "you should know what I want" attitude, is all over. Now you have to deal with PO'd or confused owners, who KNOW their dog is ok. JMO Ileana ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2005.
