I love the extendable leashes, those that go out 15 or more feet. I walk all my dogs on this lead, and I let them have it. Our walks includes a couple of ponds full of birds, and parks with squirrels, and they are allowed to pull out and have fun. We reinforce that behavior constantly, if more that one person on the walk, someone is way out front playing with the dog. We use the word "GO" to let them know is ok to pull out front. This has worked wonders for us. By the way, when I want them to walk next to me, I tell my dogs to go "Easy". They've learn to slow down, is not quite a heel, that is something different. But this has helped when a judge wants them to walk around the ring, they can go easy, without heeling, but not gaiting either. Good luck finding the right combination for your pup. He is a GSD, he will get it soon enough. Ileana ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2005.
