It would be a shame if this new policy by AKC causes some of our
specialty judges that can judge other breeds to give up their license
to judge. The only way we can insure good judging at lot of the all
breed shows is to get good judges that understand the German Shepherd
Dog. In my area, Northern California, we have been able to build a
weekend of majors at several all breed shows when we have a GSD
specialist judging. It would be very hard to convince an all breed
club to get a specialty GSD judge if they can not do other breeds and
at least one group. I sure hope this does not happen.
