[ SHOWGSD-L ] Tax Exempt status for clubs - which one?

The clubs I have incorporated are all 501 c 3. It gives you a bit more
freedom, and less chance the IRS will disqualify you and have you pay back
taxes. Actually if you file each year, (and it is just a post card), you should
have no problem. With a (a) 7, you can't have income from outside parties, and
I think the show entries could create a problem.
I am not a tax attorney, nor do I play one on television. But, I am a member of
Tax Court and have litigated against the IRS. Now, that is fun.

working to apply for our club and are not sure if we should do 501(c)3
or the 501(a)7 (that one restricts memberships) or something else. Any
