If you ever had a dog that was a tail chaser, how did you handle it?
Can you stop them from doing it? Thanks, Barbara

Hi,

I have a young male that will chase his tail if he catches a glimpse
of it while playing.  I immediately distract him with a toy;
however, this is not the pathological type of tail chasing which is
an obsessive-compulsive disorder in dogs. Another OCD activity is
"spinning." Both can be extremely difficult to treat. Some dogs
have responded to antidepressants such as Amitriptyline, trade name
Elavil.

Hope this helps.
