(Yes - very seasoned and in many venues) It has happened before that the OV was
not awarded.
It was the newcomers in our regional club who could not believe the blue-eyed
Agility Victrix - they stated she could not possibly be a GSD so why does she
have the award as a GSD. (blue eyes are not disqualifying and she had an ILP
number as a GSD). Several got really upset. More so than we long timers who
just shook our heads.
Personally I believe that if a qualified breed rep does not win the award
because the High Combined (in Obed) or other required score/class win was won
by a DQ dog, so be it. The people know going in. I am always extra thrilled
when an OV is also a breed champion. It has happened and that is something to
celebrate. The same is true when a breed CH also becomes a
Herding/Tracking/Agility champion. It is special.

I understand what Ruth is saying, but I'm betting Ruth is one of our
'seasoned' listers. Its a political world out there now Ruth and its all
about the message that appears to be sent. I have a feeling most pet people
would be turned off by this. Just sayin... You can better believe if one of
the Pal dogs would winner Obed. GV and not be awarded the prize all you know
what would break loose!
