This was sent to me by one of my rescue friends. Does anyone have any
information on the problem this girls GSD has. I do not know where she is
located or anything about the GSD.

The immune disorder my German Shepherd Dog has is Symmetrical Lupoid
Onychodystrophy. This immune system disorder causes her to completely lose
her nails. So far she has only had problems on her front paws. Whenever
she loses a nail, she is in pain and doesnt want to stand. After she loses
the nail she is fine, but the new nail growth is only a short brittle
stub-not a normal nail. My vet is not very experienced with this. The fact
is, I dont think many vets are. Ive been to six so far.
Perhaps through your work, you may come across some people who have dealt
with this disorder and may be able to recommend the best treatment.
