where they got him/her from, and what organization they are using for
training so you may speak with them before you make a decision since a true
service dog usually needs extensive training and testing prior to being
placed.*
Not all service dogs are acquired through an organization. Not everybody
can afford to do so or do the fundraising required to get the dog. Many
service dogs are owner trained.
Do service dogs need extensive training? Yes. Is it always done by an
organization? No.
