Coconut oil IS utilizable by dogs. It is most excellent for
soothing/coating/moisturizing both the digestive tract and the skin/coat.
Flax oil is NOT utilizable by dogs (nor cats) like fish oil is (to get those
wonderful omega fatty acids).
Coconut oil is an excellent choice for dogs with hot skin & oily coats and is a
great substitute for cod liver oil (fish oils) in those cases.
Coconut oil is good for kidney support (for those with kidney compromised
animals), for liver detox ( us too!), can help with gastric reflux, and did I
say it was great for the skin & coat? ;) Coconut oil can even be applied to
dry-noses (such as in the senior dog with crusty dry nose edges) and doesn't go
sticky like fish oil does- plus it tastes great even to humans.
And here I always wondered why The Pack always loves getting my leftover rice &
peas (made the Jamaican way with high oil coconut milk!)....
