Regardless of what was in her proposal, the position was offered
with the restrictions in place. The Board agreed to review them,
but there was no promise they would make any changes, and by
the time the position was accepted, it had been made clear that
there were some Board members who would vote against it and
others undecided.
She accepted the position and agreed to abide by the restrictions
unless they were changed by the Board.
And that information did come from some Board members.
As for why they didn't change things ahead of time - that's
like asking why they scheduled Del Mar on a foggy day or
Daytona during a huricane warning - they probably didn't
realize it was going to be such an issue until the process
was underway. If we ever had any psychic's applying for
the Board, it wasn't in their bio's...
