My Vet Accupuncturist here in Memphis is nationally known for her work in stem
cells placed in dogs with arthritis and hip dysplasia. She was written up in
Time magazine several years ago (Dr. Kathy Michner). I think that this field
shows great promise. I am now also a believer in accupuncture...which was a
stretch for me. Tory had a bulging disc and was successfully treated in four

Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Stem Cell Research for Dogs
Today on The Doctors, a repeat show, they shared the results of stem cell
injections into the spine of the last remaining 9/11 Search and Rescue dog
who was suffering from arthritis. Two weeks after the injections of stem
cells, the dog reportedly was much more active, playing with the other
dogs, doing the stairs and they allowed him to go on a mock search. Hope
for the future.
