You betcha Norma! In fact, I have a sick English setter who is, at this very moment, curled up inside his crate asleep. The crate door is bungied open, so no one forced him to go in there. He just knows that he can rest peacefully and nobody is going to mess with him or step on him or anything. It's his own little mini-sanctuary.
