Please read the whole message.
I'll go back a year to set the stage:
While my Father lay dying in a Hospital Bed - I missed the deadline to
nominate a Litter.
I mailed the nomination as soon as I realized I had forgot to do so. ( I was
several Weeks late )
The Futurity Chair Person assumed my entry was for the following year and
never opened it.
As the deadline approached to enter the Futurities ( May 2nd 2010 ) I went
to enter my Futurity Dogs and called the Futurity Chair person directly as I
had not received confirmation. ( and had sent email )
At that Time I was told - Oh Yes! She had received my litter nomination -
but had not opened it until receiving my email.
As the deadline for nominating a litter had passed and the numbers had been
posted - She did not think there was anything they could do.
As I was a GSDCC member ( in good standing ) I asked the GSDCC Board to
consider the circumstances and allow the nomination. At which time I was
told "I had done this long enough and should know better - a deadline was a
deadline. Thanks but no thanks.
FAST FORWARD TO 2011 in BC
Woodside Kennels ( NOT A MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING ) was allowed to pay her
membership at 3pm yesterday afternoon and show up today at the BC Fut/Mat
Show with entries and entry fee's in hand !!!!!!!
The Board members having an email vote did allow this !!!!!
My question is - Why is the vote legal = or even taking place - if the
person was not a member in good standing in the GSDCC ?
Finally - this Commercial Kennel Owner has been involved with Futurity /
Maturity for several Decades !!!
and " KNOWS THE RULES !!! " and to quote my earlier experience " SHOULD KNOW
BETTER "
It makes me wonder why we have any rules at all - if only some of us are
held accountable by them.
