Sure that is not popular, but would keep regions supporting their own.
I suggested this years ago when I was on the Futurity Committee. I do
admit, it was mixed in with a bunch of other suggestions that were "tongue
in
cheek." Here are some of my ideas.
Have whoever is doing Specials travel the country to do the futurities.
Have all dogs name be put in a bowl, and at the start of each class have
handlers take a name. All fees would be pooled and divided equally to each
handler as they handle.
Have the judges wear a mask, so no one knows who it is and do not announce
who it is going to be.
Do not announce the judge, and just let everyone show up and take a
chance.
All of these were in response to the suggestions that we cut down the
regions to make the classes bigger, (something that strikes me as one of
the
dumbest ideas of all time), and to keep everyone showing in their own
region.
My latest idea, (not just mine) was to increase the regions for a
qualifiying futurity, then hold six semi-finals to see who goes to the
national.
I know Carol is considering all ideas. Some of mine should be ignored.
But, maybe not all of them.
