I came out of work to my car, covered with ash, in the parking lot. I had to wash off my windshield. The air is so thick it makes you cough. I let Harley and Charlotte-Jo out into the backyard for about 5 minutes then brought them back inside. The air is dark, dark grey. You can't see the mountains at all. I hear fire engines and helicopters and airplanes. Guess that will quiet down as night falls in a couple of hours. It stinks, literally...it smells badly outside!! Hope the fires don't get near the Soboba Indian Reservation and Casino. I planned to go to Bingo tomorrow morning. I don't have a dog show this weekend. I don't have time for natural, nor man-made, disasters. Life is too short!! :-) :-) Just joking, just joking. Don't start chewing me out for not caring. I hope all the firefighters stay safe and I hope all the wildlife gets away to safe havens and I hope no one loses a home or other property. Harley does not get brushed and sprayed with conditioner tonight, nor does he roadwork. Too dangerous breathing in that junk. There was another earthquake on the San Jacinto Fault just before I left work at 6:00. This wasn't a good one, like Evan said would help. It wasn't too big and was epicenterred below the border, in Mexico. If it had been an American quake, it would have been stronger and more powerful, of course. I wish Obama would do something about those darned Mexican quakes coming across the border, illegally, into my country. Oh, yeah...to top it all off, we now have Killer Bees in the area. The Ag people have cordoned off a couple of residential front-yards down the street with big "BEES" signs. A horse was killed the other day in Menifee, about 20 miles from here. The local paper has articles on how to protect our pets from the little buggers. Life sure can be interesting in a retirement town!!
