There is absolutely nothing wrong with a judge telling the exhibitor how he feels about their dog. I think most would want to know why the judge withheld all ribbons. I have done mostly in other breeds that I judge, Did it in a very nice way and have never had any exhibitor not appreciated or at least that is what they have told me.
