I have seen dogs that were loved pure pets, dogs that were "pinnacle " show dogs, dogs that were farm dogs, dogs from the "best in the country" kennels, dogs of varying breeds, dogs that live a long time, short time, indoors or out....all scenarios I have seen fleas, ticks, to one degree or another in any of these groups...some dogs were VERY long lived and healthy and gloriously well cared for, others were not.....they can all get fleas, ticks....it is the owner's vigilance that stops it or catches it that make the difference.
