[ SHOWGSD-L ] So, how often does it happen?

I remember back in the 60s, (how many of us can say that), living but 20
miles from Longworth kennels, that in Michigan some whites did show up here
and there.
I haven't seen a white in a litter now for over 40 years. I would think it
could happen, but only in certain lines.
There are some AKC dogs being shown today with a white parent. I know of
one bitch that finished. I don't know enough about breeding, (or anything
else for that matter), to understand what her litters would produce.
I have no doubt that someone else will respond with a more cogent answer.

When I think of all the people I know who breed GSD's I can't think of
anyone. I remember a blue born one time about 10 years ago, and the
occasional long coat, but thats about it. Are there certain lines that do
produce this? What about German lines, does it happen in them? Inquiring
minds want to know!
