Do you remember all the way back in the 80's/90's, single people would
use the "way too over used pick up line"................ "So what's your
sign baby?" Yuck! Anyway, yours truly thought it would be fun to put
together a Astrological chart for our dogs. I searched high and low on
the web for different personality traits and I used it to develop one
for our dogs using my own words and sense of humor. Please note that
some of the dates may be off by a day or two as different websites have
different dates for the signs of the Zodiac. Don't know why that is. It
was fun to put together, so I hope you enjoy. Best wishes, Barbara

SO WHAT'S YOUR SIGN BABY?
By

ARIES: (3/21-4/19) - The Aries dog is a determined, independent dog
wanting to get things his own way. They give an air of being self
sufficient. They can be aggressive in their pursuit of getting what they
want. They can be stubborn, energetic and very adventuresome. They make
an excellent friend to their owner and can be very protective if the
need should arise. They love physical activity and love to compete which
makes them an excellent show dog. They become bored if they’re not
active and winning is very important to them. They make excellent
National Specialty dogs or Best in Show competitors as well as top
performance dogs in the obedience ring.

TAURUS: (4/20-5/20) – The Taurus dog is possessive and can be very
stubborn. They want things their way. What’s his is his and is not
likely to share his things with other dogs. He may have a favorite toy
for years. Because of his stubborn nature, he may need extra training
because once he has his mind set to something; it’s hard to change it.
They are dedicated to their master and are cautious to strangers and not
apt to make new friends very easily. They are a hard working dog and
won’t stop until their work is done. This sign is an excellent working
dog in herding and obedience and if you can convince him that running
around in a circle is fun, then he can be a good show dog as well.

GEMINI: (5/21-6/20) – The Gemini dog is an extremely independent dog and
doesn’t like to live by anyone’s rules but his own. He loves his freedom
and would do very well living on a farm or where he has lots of room to
roam. They are exciting dogs and once someone meets them, they never
forget them. He has many friends and loves meeting new people. They love
going to shows and make great “double handling” type of animals. They
always like to please their master. They excel in the show ring when the
applause is loud and appreciative. They love an audience. They are
always on. They can be a clown if they think they’ll get the attention
that they thrive on. This is a fun dog; one that enjoys life.

CANCER: (6/21 -7/22) – The Cancer dog is an emotional dog. He loves his
people and his home and craves attention from those he loves. He can be
very vocal when he wants his needs met. His feelings are easily hurt by
those he thinks should know better. He can be whining, moaning and
groaning and very vocal when he wants his dinner, or wants you to play
with him. He is very loyal and protective of his home and property. He
prefers his home life to his show dog life, but because he wants to
please his master, he can be easily persuaded if he’s baited with his
favorite treats in the show ring.

LEO: (7/23 – 8/22) – The Leo dog is a leader. You will often find that
this dog is an alpha dog. He rules his domain like the king that “he
thinks he was born to be.” Extremely loyal of his master and home, lo to
the person who tries to disrupt his orderly life. For all of his
grandiose, the owner of a Leo dog knows that he’s really a pussy cat
underneath it all. He’ll do anything to make his owner happy. He makes
an excellent show or performance dog because winning is all this dog
cares about. He is a fierce competitor and he excels when he has an
audience. This dog has a zest for life and people love to be around him.

VIRGO: (8/23 – 9/22) – The Virgo dog is very independent and
intelligent, and therefore, are extremely hard working animals. They
excel in most everything that they do. They are very observant of people
and their surroundings. This dog is one that his master can depend on,
but because of his independent nature they like to think for themselves.
They are loyal and determined and don’t make friends easily with
strangers. They tend to think before they do something. They have a
tendency to be fussy and finicky. They make excellent police dogs and
bomb detecting animals. Some make good show dogs if they don’t think
about it too much.

LIBRA: (9/23 – 10/22) – The Libra dog likes to be around people. They
enjoy their home life but can become lazy if their surroundings are too
comfortable and are not given something to do. Therefore, it’s important
to keep their adventuresome side stimulated. They enjoy new challenges
and people so much that they love going to handling classes and dog
shows. They are easy going dogs but they don’t like too much hard work.
If not done early enough, training can become a bit of a challenge with
this guy. Because they like people so much, the Libra dog can be very
courageous when it comes to his master.

SCORPIO: (10/23 – 11/21) – The Scorpio dog is fiercely independent. He
always likes to be in control and is definitely the alpha dog in the
pack. He is a one person dog and doesn’t take easily to friendships. The
Scorpio dog prefers being the only dog in his master’s life and can be
very jealous of any other dogs that are introduced to the pack. This is
a very loyal dog because he believes that his master belongs to him
rather than the other way around. He never forgets a wrong and has a
tendency to be moody. They are persistent and determined and always like
to be on the top, so therefore they make excellent show dogs on the
National and Best in Show level. Second best is never enough for this dog.

SAGITTARIUS: (11/22 – 12/21) – The Sagittarius dog is very independent
and craves new adventures. He’s a positive, happy dog and will travel to
the ends of the earth for his owner. He loves car rides and walks in the
park, training classes and dog shows. He’s a playful dog who loves to
play ball or Frisbee. As long as it’s something new, he’s up for it.
They make an excellent friend to their owner. They are exceptional show
dogs as they perform their best when they are under pressure. This is a
dog that does not like to be bored. You’ll get the most from this dog
when you give him something to do.

CAPRICORN: (12/22 – 1/19) – The Capricorn dog is very independent and
rather do things his way than your way. They are very loyal dogs and
very helpful to their masters. There is always something going on in
their minds. This is a dog that is geared towards leadership and
achievement. They make excellent therapy dogs. They are more serious in
nature and not too playful and therefore, can be more of a stubborn dog
to live with. If a dog can think, then one would believe that this guy
calculates his every move. They can be aloof and not welcome new
friendships easily in to their life’s. The Capricorn only makes a good
show dog is he thinks it’s to his advantage.

AQUARIUS: (1/20 – 2/18) – The Aquarius dog is a very, very independent
dog. It is essential to their life. They don’t like to be restricted or
held down, so training at a young age is important because later on in
life, they might like to roam around the neighborhood. This dog is a
very fun loving dog and is always ready for something new. They like
people and enjoy doing new things. They make good show dogs if their
people make it fun for them. They don’t like being locked up in crates
and dog runs for very long periods of time. They love feeling useful so
therefore they make good therapy dogs.

PISCES: (2/19 – 3/20) – The Pisces dog is very sensitive and loyal and
will go out of their way to please their masters. They are right there
when they need them. This is an emotional dog and feels whatever his
owner is feeling at the time. This is the type of dog if they lost their
owner, they’d be in sorrow for a long time. They love shows of affection
and could lie down and have their belly rubbed for long periods of time.
They do not like rejection and moan and groan for hours if you yell at
them. The Pisces dog is in tune with his master, so therefore make
excellent Seeing Eye dogs or search and rescue dogs. They will make good
show dogs if this is what pleases their master.
