Saddle Soap or rub it with pure lanolin. If you use lanolin, let it soak
in, wipe off , reapply, let it soak and wipe off.
In the old days, the mushers would use urine (human) but since I'm not big
on peeing on leather... <grin>

I've been hunting for my Mariah leather show lead for months. I found it in
the garage yesterday, buried under my husband's junk. The lead is covered
in nasty mildew.
I've read about removing mildew from leather using a dilute solution of
isopropyl alcohol. Then, after the leather is dry, it should be rubbed down
with some leather conditioner.
Has anyone tried this method with success, or is there a better way to
remove mildew from leather? I would appreciate any help that I can get.
This is my favorite lead and was barely broken in when my husband "lost" it.
