Thanks for clarifying this D.D. - In Canada the CKC official breed standard
wording on missing teeth is very different. It reads:
"While missing premolars are frequently observed, complete dentition is
decidedly to be preferred."
And so our breed standard allows for a little more forgiveness of missing
1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th premolars.
Then, in the "evaluation of faults" section, it goes on to specify
parameters, in the "Serious Fault" category. It reads:
"more than four missing premolars or any other missing teeth, unless due to
accident"
So for Canadian exhibitors and Judges at shows in the U.S.A. - and in the
reverse for U.S.A. exhibitors and judges in Canada, the expression "when in
Rome..." comes to mind.
