i met ray too. i did a portrait of him. rays favorite was the golden apples. he
had a wonderful feeling for beauty fantasy and words that evoked imagination. i
got my copy of 451 autographed that day and we talked about the science fiction
conventions of the fifties as well. he had the marvelous ability to move from
childrens fantasy to adult fiction without losing a step.
