OK....originally this was in response to a post from Carol Moore regarding
terrible Legislation in Texas.
It could be something as simple as someone in Texas sharing a letter they
wrote...so that others in Texas could also take from the original letter
and quickly use it to write their own and get it done and in the mail the
same day.
( Maybe the person that alerts us...could share the letter they wrote and
the address ....just something that simple that gets us motivated & moving )
Then...
Corresponding Secretaries in that State could alert their Club
members....with
the "suggested" letter and the address.
I've gotten many 'form' letters back and that's OK...( I always get a "form"
e-mail from Diane Feinstein when I write her ) ....she never EVER agrees
with
what I've written about...<G>....but at least I know it was COUNTED.
I just want them to pay attention and count the letters coming IN AGAINST
poor legislation that will in time make owning or breeding a dog impossible.

If those form letters aren't modified a LOT, you will get a form letter
back. Heck, you'll get a form letter back, anyway. Do they count, though?
Yes, if by the "stacks' of them. AKC just got hundreds of them, telling
them to DO something. Since the staff there in not large, and they are VERY
busy figuring out what their move will be about the new regulations, they
made a form letter to sent back to those whom wrote. And of course, THAT
got angry comments, too.
NAIA does have CapWiz, POPVOX has a good way to communicate to FEDERAL
agencies and legislators. Cavalry Organization has form letter set up (that
you can change) for various issues. I will be working with NAIA when they
get their new program going that is very powerful.
BUT you/we need local people to do this. To get the facts, to know the
problems, to know what points would be more pertinent than others. Then
communicate those fact and points to AKC (who is VERY good about responding
to those who ask) or NAIA. And don't forget to write about the legislation
that needs supporting!
