I wonder - is society raising more agressive dogs or are people just less
tolerant. Okay I have my answer to that, but honestly when I was young,
outrunning the neighborhood collie that would bite our ankles bloody if she
caught us was a daily summer activity. In fact it was a game between all the
neighborhood kids...who could run by the neighbors house without being bitten.
Of course we didn't seem to have the dog in the neighborhood that would maul
us to death so dying never was a concern, but i do remember growing up and
around a fairly large number of dogs that thought nothing of biting us and we
thought nothing of being bitten.
Is there a point to my post...no not really.....other than must we whine to
the police and involve the courts with everything bad that happens to us in are
life? Can't people just work things out anymore.
Not specific to this case since I don't know all the details, but I am so
sick of people calling the police because they might have gotten a scratch from
a bite from the vicious Pomeranian that lives down the road and they want that
dangerous dog put down and $100,000 for their pain and suffering, and then
they'll lead the movement to ban all those vicous Pomeranians, statewide to
save everyone else from the terror of such an attack......and all those
Pomeriaian owners will sit around scratching their head when the
State comes in to haul their dogs away and say wtf just happened....and all of
this because we continue to allow these whiney idiots that think they should be
paid for everything bad that happens to them in their life.... a
platform...which is particuarly ridiculous given all of the evils that we
should be concerned about in this day and age...things much bigger than being
bitten by a dog...maybe like going Christmas shopping in a mall and never
coming home. or I don't know....I'm sure there are a few more.

I don't think this is the same type of situation, I think there is some
serious questionable temperament here. Why would a dog bite if you yelled?
Mine wouldn't would yours? It esp makes me worried that it appears he was
going for a child. I also do not think that all the neighbors would band
together if this were a good dog. I think this owner should have thought
about obedience classes WAY before this.
I know if it were my child that the dog went after I would INSIST the dog be
put down. That is the worst flaw of character ever in a GSD.
